- Agentic Marketing Platform — Must-have Capabilities
Discover the essential capabilities of an agentic AI marketing platform.

Every CIO I know has had some version of this conversation: their CEO comes back from a golf trip with their buddy, or a conference with peers, and is told AI is about to automate everything at their company, from HR to marketing and finance. No humans in the loop, just AI. The CEO then calls an all-hands Monday morning, and the CIO is suddenly on the hook to make it all happen. The instinct for CEOs to chase unsubstantiated claims is understandable since they’re responding to competitive pressure. But that leaves CIOs responsible to close the gap between ambition and reality. Making AI work in an organization with decades of accumulated process , permission frameworks, and cultural inertia is very different from deploying it in a demo. The best response isn’t to push back on the ambition, but redirect it. Translate the CEOs vision into an honest map of what has to happen for the organization to get there, including the infrastructure, governance , and training. That helps to convert t

- Node4: AI and agentic the future, but culture the key to unlock it
Artificial intelligence (AI) – and in particular agentic AI – can bring considerable increases in productivity to any organisation that uses it, with potential gains of £10 for every £1 spent. But achieving those rewards will require great effort to ensure AI becomes part of organisational culture. That’s the view shared by executives at a Node4 user day event in Nottingham this week, where the mid-market enterprise application, software-as-a-service (SaaS) provider and Microsoft partner showcased a range of AI-based solutions. According to Derby-based Node4 , we are set to move past the era of “clunky” AI experiments and into a period where the technology is being industrialised at a rate that outpaces most corporate governance structures. Also showcased was agentic AI, but here, Node4 thinks it will be a year or so before customers trust it. Meanwhile, data sovereignty is an everyday conversation for the company ( see box ). A friend of mine runs an interior design firm. Six people. Good reputation. Busy enough. Last month, he told me he was setting up an AI agent to handle enquiries on his website. ProgramBench is a new coding benchmark that all frontier models spectacularly fail. We’ve been on a quest for “hard benchmarks” for a while so it’s refreshing to see a benchmark where top models do badly. Unfortunately, ProgramBench has one big problem: it’s impossible! What is ProgramBench? ProgramBench tests if a model can recreate a program from a “clean room” environment. The model is given only a bit of documentation and black-box access to the program (all the programs are CLIs), then tasked with re-implementing it. How does ProgramBench know if the implementation is correct? It also generates a bunch of unit tests for the program [1] . The re-implementing coding agent doesn't have access to any of those tests. The coding agent only considers a task “resolved” if it passes all of the tests and “almost resolved” if it passes 95% of them. Why is this problematic? Obscure behavior can enter the unit tests without being in the clean room path. An extreme version of this is a backdoor

A power outage triggered by a thermal event inside an Amazon Web Services data center in Northern Virginia disrupted Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) instances and Elastic Block Store (EBS) volumes in the US-EAST-1 region late on Thursday, the cloud provider confirmed in updates posted to its Health Dashboard. In an incident report timestamped 5:25 PM PDT (00:25 UTC Friday), AWS said it had spotted issues in the use1-az4 availability zone and confirmed that “EC2 instances and EBS volumes hosted on impacted hardware are affected by the loss of power during the thermal event.” Rising temperatures inside a single data center had caused the impairments, the company said in a statement . AWS shifted traffic away from the affected zone for most services and warned of longer-than-usual provisioning times. As the evening progressed, the company struggled to bring temperatures down. By 6:47 PM PDT, AWS warned that “Other AWS services that depend on the affected EC2 instances and EBS volumes in this
- Iran war increases interest in repurposing Swiss military bunkers into data centres
Iran targeted three data centres in the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain – a first in any conflict. In the digital age, such infrastructure has become a prime target. Former Swiss military bunkers are now attracting growing interest from those seeking to protect their own data or their clients' data. During the Cold War, Switzerland had some 8,000 bunkers. The military has always kept the exact number a secret. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, the army abandoned many of these installations with their thick concrete walls. According to one estimate, around 1,000 were sold to the private sector, sometimes for a pittance. Their new owners converted them into cheese cellars, mushroom farms, museums and now data centres. In the canton of Lucerne, the industrial services have converted a bomb shelter into a digital safe. - SHANK3-anchored reverse phenotyping identifies a rare-variant-enriched cognitive-motor subgroup of autism
Rare deleterious variants in SHANK3 are established causes of autism spectrum disorder (ASD), but the extent to which they define a phenotypically and genetically coherent ASD subgroup remains unclear. Using the SPARK cohort, we identified 132 SHANK3 variant carriers; 108 had phenotype data and were compared with 47,555 non-carrier ASD cases. SHANK3 damaging variant carriers showed lower cognitive ability, poorer motor coordination, and delayed developmental milestones. Protein-truncating variant and deletion carriers showed similarly severe phenotypic profiles, whereas duplication carriers did not differ from non-carriers. A combined threshold of intelligence quotient (IQ) < 70 and impaired motor coordination (DCDQ total score) < 35 defined a discriminative cognitive-motor phenotype among cases meeting this cognitive-motor phenotype. Beyond SHANK3, SLC6A1 was the only additional gene reaching false discovery rate significance, while pathway analyses implicated synaptic and chromatin-r
