CtrlS, BharathCloud launch sovereign cloud centre amid rising AI demand
BharathCloud has launched its first AI-ready Sovereign Cloud Centre at CtrlS Datacenters’ Hyderabad DC1 facility. The company said the initiative is part of its USD 100 million (approximately Rs 950 crore) investment roadmap over the next five years to build sovereign AI-ready cloud infrastructure across India. The expansion roadmap includes metro cities such as Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi NCR, Kolkata, and Pune, alongside Tier-II and Tier-III locations. India’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) ambitions are increasingly colliding with a hard infrastructure reality. Enterprises may be accelerating AI adoption, but questions around GPU availability, power density, low-latency connectivity, and sovereign cloud infrastructure are becoming harder to ignore. As AI models move from experimentation to production workloads, the focus is gradually shifting from software capability to compute infrastructure. That transition is creating new opportunities for datacentre operators, sov
