Indian enterprises are embracing artificial intelligence at an unprecedented pace, but a new report suggests that governance and security controls are struggling to keep up. As AI models, coding assistants, agent frameworks and machine learning libraries become embedded across development pipelines, organisations face a growing disconnect between confidence in their AI governance programmes and their ability to demonstrate actual control. According to JFrog's 2026 Software Supply Chain Security State of the Union, India exhibits some of the most significant software supply chain blind spots among surveyed markets, even as enterprises accelerate AI adoption. The findings point to a broader challenge confronting technology leaders: the transformation of AI from an application-layer technology into a foundational component of the software supply chain itself.
