- How insurer Aviva migrated 1.3PB of siloed data to become "AI-ready" in 7 months

For the past two years, companies have been asking the wrong question: how do we use AI in our processes ? That question made sense at the beginning. When large language models first appeared, the instinct was natural: take what already exists, from workflows to functions, decision chains, etc., and try to accelerate them. Add copilots. Add assistants. Add automation layers. Improve productivity . But as we’ve seen, that approach doesn’t scale. As I’ve argued in previous pieces, enterprise AI hasn’t failed because the technology doesn’t work. It has failed because we tried to place it in the wrong layer. Large language models were never designed to run a company , and embedding them into existing processes doesn’t change that structural mismatch . Now that the initial enthusiasm has collided with reality, a different question is starting to emerge, quietly, but unmistakably: what if the problem is not how to use AI in our processes, but that our processes were never designed for AI in

Network engineers tell me that their teams are chronically understaffed. This is partially a labor market issue, given that 52% of IT organizations recently told Enterprise Management Associates (EMA) that they’re struggling to hire networking pros. But it’s also a business decision. Over-hiring in the wake of the pandemic led to a wave of layoffs, and now IT executives are gun-shy about repeating the same pattern. Instead, they tell their network teams to find ways to operate with fewer resources. In fact, 43% of IT pros say personnel shortages is a top network operations challenge. With network operations centers (NOC) and network engineering teams understaffed, many organizations want to automate Day 2 operations —monitoring, troubleshooting, change management — as much as possible. Of course, there are business drivers for automation, too. Network teams want to accelerate mean time to repair, which is a key measure of operational effectiveness today. They also want to improve overa

- I Ran Hermes Agent on the Same Task for 7 Days. The Skill File on Day 7 Looked Nothing Like Day 1.
TL;DR: Hermes Agent is the only open-source agent that gets better at your specific work without you touching anything. I ran it on the same task every day for 7 days and watched the skill file evolve from a 12-line rough draft to a 60-line intelligent procedure. Here’s every step, every output, and why this changes what I think an AI agent should be. Every AI agent framework you’ve used starts from zero. LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI — they all do real work. Multi-step planning, tool use, parallelism. But you close the terminal, restart the session, and the agent that spent twenty minutes figuring out exactly how to handle your data structure has forgotten all of it. You’re back to square one. We’ve been so focused on what agents can do that nobody’s asking what they keep . That’s the question Hermes Agent is actually answering. And after running it daily for a week, I can tell you: the difference between Day 1 and Day 7 isn’t marginal. It’s a different agent. The Setup I run a web app t
